Festive season - inward-looking and outward-looking

As the festive season approaches we tend to celebrate more, pamper ourselves and others, and (over)indulge . On the one hand it is great to have fun and be in high spirits as we are more engaged and animated. On the hand, however, on the wave of this festive overindulgence we tend to overspent, overeat and overdrink, etc. Yogic philosophy is teaching us that if we have an inward focus, we make better decisions and are not easily swayed having to constantly please our senses. Moderation does not mean denying yourself pleasures, but rather satisfying your senses with less, being more mindful and grateful for little pleasures. Less is more.
The last class before Christmas is on 15th Dec at Tulse Hill, 7-8:30pm. Classes resume on 3rd Jan 2015. In the meantime take time to celebrate your breath & movement.
